IED event in Jammu and Kashmir, Soura area of Srinagar area, India on Tue 21st December 2021

Vehicle-borne militants fired at a joint team of Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at a joint checkpoint in Soura area of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in the evening of December 21 with one of the fleeing militants said to have been injured in the Security Forces' retaliatory fire, reports Greater Kashmir. As per the report, a team of Police led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Hazratbal along with CRPF personnel were checking vehicles at the checkpoint in Soura at the time of the attack.|Separately, Police along with SFs on December arrested four associates linked with Jaish-i-Mohammad (JeM) and recovered "incriminating materials" including arms and ammunition from their possession in Awantipora District, reports Greater Kashmir. As per a police spokesman, the accused, identified as Zubair Gul son of Gh Mohd Ganie, Adil Fayaz Ganie son of Fayaz Ahmed Ganie, Basit Ali son of Ali Mohd Dar all residents of Samboora and Shahid Nabi Pandith son of Gh Nabi Pandith resident of Konibal Pampore, were held by Police along with 50th Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 110th Battalion of CRPF. "Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including pistol, hand grenade was recovered from their possession”, Police said. As per police, the arrested JeM associates "were in touch with JeM commanders and were involved in transportation of arms and ammunition. Besides, they were providing shelter and other logistic support to the active terrorists operating in Samboora & Pampore areas of Awantipora".
