Meanwhile, in a belated report, the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres killed the Sarpanch (head of the Panchayat, village level local self-Government institution) of Karmari village under Farazgaon Police Station limits in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on November 26, reports 10tv.in. The Maoists, who had reached Karmari village, located 21 kilometres from Narayanpur district headquarters, in large numbers on November 26 night, called out Sarpanch Birju Salam and brutally shot him dead. Later, posters and banners were hung in the village in support of the Maoists. Later, the Maoists also set ablaze a JCB machine working on the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak project.
