Meanwhile, two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants, including a local militant, were killed in a brief shootout in Rangreth area of Srinagar on December 13, reports Daily Excelsior. Police statement said “based on specific input regarding movement of terrorists in general area of Rangreth, surprise naka checking points were established tactically by Police in the area. Police identified one of the slain militants as Adil Ahmad Wani, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Daramdoora area in Shopian District. Police said another slain is a Pakistani militant whose identity is being ascertained. “As per police records, both the killed terrorists were involved in several terror crime cases and civilian atrocities and played a key role in number of recent killings in Srinagar city. Arms and ammunition including two AK rifles and other incriminating materials were recovered from the site of the encounter.
