The Police arrested seven cadres of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) from Khajuri village under Panki Police Station area in Palamu District of Jharkhand on December 15, reports abplive.com. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Leslieganj, Alok Kumar Tuti said that the members of JJMP were arrested from Khajuri village under Panki Police Station area, where they had gathered. The ‘commanders’ of the outfit, Ganesh and Pramod, who escaped from the spot, had received information about the arrival of the Police. The SDPO also told that no weapon was recovered from the extremists but they were wanted in many cases. The arrestedNaxalites [Left Wing Extremists, LWEs] were identified as Budhram Singh alias Guddu, son of Munib Singh village Khajuri, Ashok Singh, son of Baldev Singh village Matuli, Pradeep Singh alias Majhila, son of Vishwanath Singh village Khajuri, Praveen Lohra, son of Jogan Lohra village Jhagrudih, Saddam Ansari, son of Hadish Mian village Khajuri, Chandradev Kumar Singh alias Gadu, son of Rajaram Singh village Khajuri, and Vijay Kumar Singh alias Chhotu, resident of village Khajuri. Among the arrested Naxalites is Praveen Lohra, brother of JJMP ‘chief’ Pappu Lohra. All the arrestees were involved in recce, providing information about the Police movements, and also reported economic activities in the area to the ‘commander’, following which ‘levy’ (extortion amount) was collected for the organization.
