People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), ‘area commander’ Mangra Lugun was suspected to have been killed in an encounter that broke out between the PLFI squad and the District Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel near Lepa and Reda forests area in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on December 16, reports prabhatkhabar.com. Superintendent of Police (SP), Ajay Linda said that Mangra Lugun is likely to be killed in the encounter. After identification, it will be confirmed who has been killed. Significantly, PLFI ‘area commander’ Mangra was also involved in the recent encounter with his squad. At that time, PLFI ‘supremo’ Dinesh Gope was leading this squad and was running for three days due to the siege of Police and Security Forces (SFs). While Mangra Lugun was hiding in the forest with his squad, however, according to sources, the Police is engaged in bringing the body of the slain Naxalite ‘commander’ Mangra from the forest. It is noteworthy that Mangra was a special target of the Police, and half a dozen Naxalites live with Mangra Lugun. PLFI is a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
