On 7 December 2021, near Kan Kaung village (Meiktila township, Meiktila district, Mandalay region), a joint forces of four People's defence forces including Meiktila PDF claimed that they threw a bomb at Kan Kaung Police station at Mile 293/3 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in retaliation of the crackdown in Kyimyindaing township. The explosion killed at least three police and injured five others.
