On December 8, 2021, around 10.30 am, an American aircraft bomb from the Second World War was found during construction work on the BASF Schwarzheide GmbH factory premises. All necessary security measures were taken immediately at the site. The responsible authorities have been informed. The ordnance disposal service of the state of Brandenburg (KMBD) was on site and assessed the situation. There is currently no acute risk. The crisis team has been convened and is in close contact with the city of Schwarzheide and the KMBD. Mitigation measures are planned.
