Deadly terrorist attacks continue to rock the Republic of Mali. According to local authorities, at least 31 people were killed in the central province of Mopti on the 3rd of December 2021 in an attack by militants on a bus carrying people to a local market in Bandiagara. Unidentified gunmen attacked the bus as it travelled along the road from the village of Songho to the market in Bandiagara, said Moulaye Guindo, mayor of the nearby town of Bankass. "Armed men... shot at a car, punctured tyres and people were shot at," Guindo said. The mayor and another local official also confirmed that at least 31 people had been found dead, including women and children, and that many others were injured or missing.
