On 29 November 2021, unknown militants detonated an explosive device killing 2 Iraqi policemen and injuring 8 others near the orchards of Qaryat al Abbarah village in Diyala. 1 fatality was the result of a commander succumbing to his injures on 1 December 2021. The unit was from the Rapid Reaction Force.
