On 2 December 2021, an IED planted by an unidentified party on the car of a colonel in the pro-Hadi 35th Armored Brigade detonated in Ash Shaubah market in Al Maafer district (Taizz) injuring the colonel and killing 2 civilians. A subsequent report the next day claimed that the colonel died in the hospital. Fatalities coded as 3.
