On 3 December 2021, in Kyonpyaw town (Pathein district, Ayeyarwady region), a hand grenade exploded at Electric Power Corporation (EPC) office in A Thawng Tiake Ne area at around 4:45 am. Kyonpyaw Special Task Force (KSTF) claimed responsibility as a warning to EPC staff who forced local to pay electric bills.
