On 21 November 2021, in Hlaingbwe town (Hlaingbwe township, Hpa-An district, Kayin state), a convoy of the chairman of the Kayin state appointed by the military council was attacked with a mine on his way home from the opening of an oxygen plant on the Hpa-An - Hlaingbwe road. Two vehicles were damaged. There were no casualties.
