On 22 November 2021, a remote controlled IED by Al Shabaab militants detonated, targeting an AMISOM UPDF convoy while moving from KM60 heading to Shalambood, near Ceel Waregow village (Marka, Lower Shabelle). There were no casualties. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
