On 25 November 2021, an IED planted by an unidentified party targeted the convoy of the commander of the 1st Tihama Resistance Brigade -- Ahmad al Kawkabani -- in Hays district (Al Hudaydah) injuring him. There were no fatalities. The source mentioned rivalries between anti-Houthi forces on the west coast and suggested that the IED could have been planted by Tareq Saleh's forces.
