On 29 January 2022, in Myitkyina town (Myitkyina township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), the MPT communication box in front of the Asia Energy petrol station at the intersection of Myay Myint and Myo Thit Gyi wards was bombed at around 3 am. Another bomb blast was heard near the Myanmar Railways office in Aung Nang Ward at 8 pm but details were not confirmed. There were no casualties.
