On 30 January 2022, in Katha town (Katha district, Sagaing region), a bomb explosion occurred at engineer room of township municipal office. The People's Defense Force - Katha warned three government departments, including municipal office, taxation office, and fishery department to stop collecting tax and called for no more tenders to be awarded to people close to the dictatorship. There were no casualties.
