On 31 January 2022, in Katha town (Katha district, Sagaing region), an explosion occurred inside computer room of Katha Postal office. The People's Defense Force - Katha warned three government departments, including municipal office, taxation office, and fishery department to stop collecting tax and called for no more tenders to be awarded to people close to the dictatorship. There were no casualties.
