On 1 February 2022, in Myawaddy town (Myawaddy district, Kayin State), a bomb explosion occurred near the township Electrical Power Corporation (EPC) office located on Bayint Naung road at around 12pm after the locals held a rally in support of the Myanmar military coup. No group claimed responsibility for the explosion. There were no casualties.
