On 1 February 2022, in Hpayarthonesu town, Kyainseikgyi township (Kawkareik district, Kayin State), three bomb explosions occurred in Hpayarthonesu town, first explosion occurred at Betel Nut shop near Myo Ma market and the other two explosions near rubbish bin located behind the market at around 6am. No group claimed responsibility for the explosion. There were no casualties.
