On 3 February 2022, a rocket attack was carried out by a militant group called Ahrar Sinjar targeting Turkish Army's Zilkan military base in Kudud village in Bashiqa sub-district of Ninewa. The rockets missed the base and fell in its vicinity. The group claimed they fired a total of 18 rockets targeting the base. There were no casualties.
