On 3 February 2022, between Lun Taung and Min Ga Lar Thi Ri villages of Madaya township (coded as Min Ga Lar Thi Ri) (Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Madaya PDF attacked a military column of 100 troops with remote-controlled explosives. The military then fired indiscriminately to the surrounding and killed a 9-year-old boy. His mother had minor injuries.
