Seven World War II bombs were found in Westfalenpark on Monday. In the afternoon the defusing started, in the evening the successful defusing could be reported. At around 7:30 p.m., a loud bang was heard - the fuse head of the last bomb was detonated in a controlled manner. In a radius of 500 meters around the largest bomb had been evacuated. 200 residents were affected, who had to leave their homes from 3:30 p.m. The Westfalenpark had already been closed early. There were traffic restrictions. Six 250 kg bombs and one 500 kg bomb were found. The B1 , the main artery in Dortmund , and also the B54 in Dortmund have been closed in the meantime. The light rail lines in the area also ran only to a limited extent or not at all from 4:30 p.m.
