A dud from World War II was found during construction work on Walter-Behrendt-Strasse. The caliber of the dud cannot yet be determined exactly - but it is defused anyway. In Dortmund-Derne, 800 residents had to leave their apartments and houses on Wednesday, January 19th. The reason for this is the discovery of a dud on Tuesday, January 18, during construction work on Walter-Behrendt-Strasse. The planned defusing should take place, even if the size and weight of the dud cannot yet be precisely determined due to the ground conditions. The location and condition of the dud are crucial to why the explosive ordnance disposal service of the Arnsberg district government has to proceed in a planned manner on Wednesday, January 19th. To be on the safe side, the area within a radius of 500 meters around the site is being evacuated. This affects several hundred residents, who are informed by leaflets, as well as the Gneisenau industrial park. Buses run with restrictions Due to the complete closure of Derner Straße due to the evacuation and subsequent defusing, there will be restrictions on DSW21 bus traffic from around 10:30 a.m. onwards. The lines 410 and 411 are affected, which have to drive a wide detour around the evacuation area. A total of eight stops can temporarily no longer be reached: "Im Karrenberg", "Hostedder Berg", "Beylingstraße", "DO-Derne", "Altenderner Straße", "Körtingsweg", "Auf der Wenge" and "Piepenbrink".
