On 22 March, early in the morning two people on a motorbike threw a hand grenade at the Russian consulate in north Athens, which exploded beside the booth of the police guard who was away at the time. There was minor damage and no injuries were reported. Anarchist group 'Collusion for Revenge FAI/IFR - Mikhail Zhlobitsky Cell' - associated with the anarchist group Conspiracy of Cells of Fire - claimed responsibility on 18 April criticising Russia's 'state authoritarianism' and expressed solidarity with a number of detained anarchists.
