On 28 January 2022, near Hopin town of Mohnyin township (Mohnyin district, Kachin state), the Hopin PDF attacked a convoy of military support trucks with remote-controlled explosives near a bridge between Mile 5 and Kyar Gyi field. The military then fired back to the surroundings for 30 minutes. The group reported that 10 military soldiers died from the blast.
