On 25 January 2022, unknown militants targeted Al Garma district with 3 Katyusha rockets in Anbar. 1st rocket hit the municipality garage in Karma town, the 2nd landed in front of a civilian house on Street 20, and the 3rd fell on the area of Qaryat ar Rashad injuring 2 minors. Coded as Al Garma district capital Karma town. There were no fatalities. Karma is the hometown of the Speaker of the Parliament Muhammad Al Halbousi. One rocket landed 500 meters away from his house. The attack took place after Al Halbousi was re-elected as speaker.
