On 22 January 2022, 7 Hazara civilians were killed and 9 injured when an IS planted magnetic bomb attached to a vehicle exploded in Haji Abbas area, PD12 of Herat city. 1 of the injured civilians later died in a hospital in Iran. The location the bomb exploded is a Shiite dominated locality.
