On January 22,a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered buried in the forest behind a botanical garden near Diphu-Lumding Road in Karbi Anglong District of Assam. The arms and ammunition including a .22 rifle, a .303 rifle, a hand-made pistol, several grenades and detonators, magazines and explosives of different kinds which was recovered during the search operation is suspected to planted by ‘chairman’ of Karbi Democratic Liberation Front (KDLF), Jackson Ronghang, who was killed in a gunfight with Security Forces on December 17, 2021.
