On 17 January 2022, between Yan Lin Hpai and Wi Toke villages, Tamu township (Tamu district, Sagaing region), the People's Defense Force - Tamu Brigade-3 carried out a mine attack against police forces, traveling from Kalay to Tamu town between Yan Lin Hpai and Wi Toke villages. The attack killed five police forces. PDF-Tamu claimed seizure of three firearms, a camera, bullet proof jacket, and other items.
