On 17 January 2022, the Saudi-led coalition conducted air raids on the Libyan City neighborhood of Maain district (coded to Sanaa - Qaryat Asr) (Amanat al Asimah) destroying five houses killing 14 people and injuring others. One of the destroyed houses, the reported target of the strikes, was the house of Houthi military official Major General Abdullah Qassim al Junayd, former or current Director of the Houthi School of Aviation, who was killed in the strikes along with his family.
