On 19 January 2022, in Saravena (Arauca), a car bomb attack took place in the center of the town, a few meters away from several government and social organization's buildings. The FARC Dissident group 28th Front claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that it was aimed at ELN forces. One man was killed and 20 people were injured in the attack, including social leaders. Several buildings in the area were destroyed by the blast. 1 fatality.
