An encounter broke out between militants and Security Forces (SFs) at Kilbal village in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on January 22 (today), reports Daily Excelsior. Sources said, two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. A joint team of J&K Police, 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area, and as the joint team of SFs approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering a gunfight. Further details are awaited at the time of reporting the incident.
