On 16 February 2022, in Pyay town of Pyay township (Pyay district, Bago-West region), explosions occurred at the police outpost near the Pyay hospital, at township electrical department office and the military outpost at Aung San Street. The Mother Son Pyi Force, under the BN&KS battalion-1 branch-3 (Pyay), claimed responsibility. Three military soldiers and police died in the attack and three others were injured.
