On 17 February 2022, near Long Tat village of Lashio township (Lashio district, Shan-North state), heavy shells hit IDPs who were returning to their homes, killing three including a five-year-old child, and severely injuring five others. The Northern Alliance and military were fighting in the area and locals do not know who fired the shells.
