He [ Colonel Souleymane Dembelé] further stated that "on 4 January 2022, a FAMA unit foiled another coordinated terrorist action in the Nia Ouro sector, Sofara circle with reinforcements of 15 armed motorcyclists observed coming from the Sama forest and who were intercepted and neutralised", adding that the toll of this attack was one soldier wounded and 2 armoured vehicles damaged by the explosion of the IED.
