An encounter between People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Security Forces (SF) took place near Khontal village bordering Myanmar of Chandel District in Manipur on March 8, reports Northeast Now. According to sources, the gunbattle started after a group of PLA rebels attempted to infiltrate into Manipur in India from Myanmar. Three PLA militants including a self-styled lieutenant is believed to have sustained bullet injuries. Later, the militants are stated to have returned to their bases in Myanmar.
