On 9 March 2022, military forces of India fired a missile into Pakistan in the Mian Channu area (Khanewal district, Punjab). There were no casualties. However there was damage to civilian property. Later Indian government claimed that the missile was accidently fired due to a technical malfunction during routine maintenance.
