On 28 February 2022, in Tha Pyay Aye village (Yinmarbin township, Yinmarbin district, Sagaing), two military helicopters attacked the village, killing a villager while two other helicopters deployed about 60 military troops. Troops that were dropped by the helicopters also set fire to nearly 150 houses in the village, killing an elder who could not flee in time.
