On 3 March 2022, an IED by Al Shabaab militants detonated, targeting the Aawdiinle chairman of the Southwest Administration near his house in Aawdiinle village (Baydhaba, Bay). One security guard (assumed from the military) was killed, and three others were injured in the explosion.
