On 2 March 2022, in Pyigyitagon township (Mandalay district, Mandalay region), a bomb explosion occurred at the traffic control checkpoint while policemen were inspecting vehicles at 117th Street (Kyansitthar Road) and the Yangon-Mandalay intersection at around 4 pm. Two policemen were injured and a car nearby was slightly damaged.
