On February 23, a militant belonging to Revolutionary People's Front/ People's Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) was arrested from Leikinthabi village of Imphal West District of Manipur, reports The Sangai Express. The militant identified as Maibam Dhanachandra alias Foreign alias Mocha Meitei had joined RPF/ PLA in 2008. Further, on his disclosure, another militant identified as Ramai Daphya Amos was arrested from Phyapon village of Kangpokpi District. Ramai Daphya Amos revealed that self-styled ‘finance secretary’ Hriipu Poumai of National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) from Senapati and one unknown person came to his house in January 2022 and handed over one IED for safe custody and to be planted along Imphal-Kangpokpi axis. One IED, one detonator and one mobile phone was recovered from the arrestee.|Earlier, a Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) militant was arrested on February 21 from Churachandpur District of Manipur. One 9mm Pistol and three live rounds were recovered from the arrestee.|On the same day, in another incident, a United National Liberation Front (UNLF) militant was arrested from Bishnupur District.|On February 23, a huge cache of explosive materials and six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered near Betuk village along the Myanmar border in Moreh of Tengnoupal District of Manipur, reports Northeast Now. The arms and ammunition including six IEDs with cortex, electric wire and explosive materials was recovered from a wooden box that a person was carrying from Myanmar to India.
