Security Forces (SFs) on February 23 arrested two militant associates of The Resistance Front, an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) from Khachadari Zehanpora area of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. A Police spokesman said that Baramulla Police received specific information through reliable sources that militant group from Khachadari Zehanpora are using illegal arms and ammunition against Police and other SFs in the main area of Baramulla town to disturb the peace and law and order. 40 live rounds of AK 47 were recovered from their possession. During questioning, both persons disclosed their names as Imtiyaz Ahmad Bardal son of Siraj-ud-din Bardal and Muneer Ahmad son of Siraj-ud-din both residents of Khachadari Zehanpora. They confessed that they were working for TRF militant group and helping to carry illegal arms and ammunition from one place to other to carry attacks on Police/ SFs.|Meanwhile, Police arrested two militant associates of LeT in Shopian District on February 23, reports Daily Excelsior. “Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession”, Police said. “During the course of investigation of case FIR No. 14/2022 of PS Zainapora, officers learnt about the involvement of Aqib Mushtaq Lone son of Mushtaq Ahmed Lone and Amir Amin Sofi son of Mohammad Amin, both residents of Shadcheck linked to LeT. Subsequently, both the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remained in custody”, Police added. Arms and ammunition including one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine and 24 live rounds of AK-47 were recovered.
