SAA event in Jammu & Kashmir, Sultanpora Bridge, Zachaldara area, India on Mon 21st February 2022

Police on February 21 arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant from Handwara area of Kupwara District, reports Daily Excelsior. An official said that based on specific input regarding movement of a militant in Rajwar area of Handwara, Police along with 21st Rastriya Rifles (RR) and 92nd Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) established a special joint Naka (checkpoint) near Sultanpora Bridge at Zachaldara. “During checking of pedestrians and vehicles, one suspect on noticing the joint security forces tried to conceal his presence and flee from spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert party. He was identified as Ubaid Bashir Wani son of Bashir Ahmed Wani, resident of Maidan Pora Lolab Kupwara”, the official said. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one pistol with magazine and five pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.
