On 21 February 2022, at Thamine junction of Mayangone township (Yangon-West district, Yangon region), an explosion occurred at the traffic police booth outside the City mart. The Bamar Lu Nge Kon Yet: Bamar Youth Network and Myanmar Defense Force claimed responsibility for the act and reported that 5 military soldiers and police died. Locals witnessed two - a soldier and a traffic police - died on the spot.
