On 21 February 2022, a remote controlled IED by Al Shabaab militants detonated, targeting the convoy of the Puntland President in the outskirts of Bosaso town (Bossaso, Bari). Two soldiers were killed and six others were injured. The state President survived the attack. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
