On 19 March 2022, in Kyauk Taung village of Thaton township (Thaton district, Mon state), the military LID-44 fired four 120 mm rounds into the village while villagers having an annual religious festival at around 9 pm. Three shells exploded and three civilians including a 7-year-old died on the spot from the explosion and eight others were injured - of which a child severely.
