On 22 March 2022, in the rural area of El Centro corregimiento (Santander), an unidentified armed group detonated an explosive device next to an oil pipeline located in the village of Campo 45. Armed groups such as the ELN are known to frequently attack oil infrastructure in this area. There were no fatalities.
