On 24 March 2022, near Auk Wea Gyi village (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), a local PDF attacked a military column of about 50 military soldiers with mines near Myay Nu islands at around 7 am. At around 2 pm, the PDF attacked a column of about 70 military soldiers with mines near Than Pa Yar Kone. At least eight military soldiers were killed. Another source, the DVB, reported at least nine military soldiers were killed.
