On 9 April, the headquarters of the Military Forces of Sudan in Deribat, Darfur, fired a rocket-propelled grenade killing one person and injuring another. It is not clear why the government forces launched the grenade to the mountains where many civilians had taken refuge during the fighting in East Jebel Marra. They could have mistaken a flashlight for gunfire and responded by firing bombs to that direction for half an hour.
