On February 22, 2018 in Montenegrin capital Podgorica a man threw a grenade at the US embassy, subsequently blowing himself up with another bomb. The attack comes after the country joined NATO. The attacker, Serbia-born Dalibor Jaukovic, connected with the conservative currents, fought in the Yugoslav Army during the NATO bombings of 1999 and reportedly expressed anti-NATO sentiments.
